STORESONLINE MAKING
WAVES IN THE OCEAN OF ONLINE PRODUCT DATABASE
MANAGEMENT, ECOMMERCE, AND StoresOnline Site USABILITY
The StoresOnline Storebuilder is a dynamic and extremely
easy-to-use StoresOnline Site publisher.
The StoresOnline Storebuilder allows
online merchants to take e-commerce to the next level of professionalism
and originality.
StoresOnline software allows
merchants to easily add individual
products, assign product numbers,
supply multiple images, offer features
and specifications respective to
the product, provide links, add
keywords, and supply downloadable files.
The Shopping Cart Feature is seamless,
allowing for secure and safe online
purchases from online customers.
In its infancy, the Internet was
not secure enough to satisfy customer
concerns about sending billing information
over the Internet. Yet, after exponential
improvements, the Internet now has
the ability to send and receive
tightly encrypted data of all sorts,
including billing information. A
link on this page thoroughly discusses
the new advantages of the StoresOnline
Storebuilder's Shopping Cart.
StoresOnline merchants can easily
adjust the Checkout Process. The checkout process
is designed and established to have
customers easily purchase products
from the merchant's online StoresOnline site.
Every aspect of the checkout process provides
ease and security to the customer
as well as the merchants. Plus,
the added security features of online processors provide safe,
fraudulent free E-retailing between
merchants and consumers. A link
on this page will outline the many
aspects of the StoresOnline Storebuilder's
Checkout Page.
Within the “Ordering Rules” section
of the StoresOnline Storebuilder,
merchants have the ability to define
shipping and handling, taxes, discounts
to customers, shipping destinations
to deny or accept, shipping companies
to utilize, currencies to use, payment
methods to accept, and shipping
and billing forms to be filled out
by the online customer.
One of the most important
elements of online retail sales
is the ability to collect money
from willing customers. In its infancy,
the Internet was not secure enough
to satisfy customer concerns about
sending billing information over
the Internet. Yet, after exponential
improvements, the Internet now has
the ability to send and receive
tightly encrypted data of all sorts,
including billing information. The StoresOnline Storebuilder has capitalized
on the use of secure information
transfer from customers to merchants.
The StoresOnline Storebuilder provides
the entire Shopping Cart functionality
for them. The merchant
does not need to know or to do any
web-programming at all. The Shopping
Cart page will add up all the items
and their respective quantities
selected by the customer. These
items, quantities, and costs are
displayed clearly and simply, so
potential customers understand the
prices and totals of their potential
purchase.
The Shopping Cart page has the ability
for the StoresOnline merchant to
customize it contents. If the merchant chooses to add any additional
elements to the Shopping
Cart page, it is done in the same
fashion as all the other web pages;
one easy step at a time. Elements
such as images, texts, links, contact
info, security info, etc. can all
be displayed along with always-seamless
security of the Storebuilder’s
Shopping Cart.
After customers are at the StoresOnline Shopping Cart page, they then have
the choice to change quantities,
continue to select more items, or
checkout and purchase their items.
The simplicity of the StoresOnline Storebuilder process provides no
hindrance to the customer; moreover,
it allows for a very simple and
secure online purchase. The remainder
of the
checkout process is found under
the respective link. Here you will
find additional explanation of what merchants can do to
help customers complete the checkout
and finish their purchase.
In the StoresOnline Storebuilder
“Ordering Rules” page, the merchant can figure in taxes, shipping,
destinations, etc that will be required
to finish their customers' transactions.
Once entered, the ordering rules
are automatically calculated into
the purchase without any other work
from the merchant. View the Ordering Rules link for
an explanation of how ordering rules
are established and how they affect
potential customers. StoresOnline is a certified UPS
Online Tools® Provider. What does
this mean to you? It means that
shipping and fulfilling orders has
now become almost automated. You
can calculate real-time UPS shipping
rates, print shipping labels, and
call a truck to pickup the package,
all from the convenience of the Storebuilder.
his is where it all happens in
respect to the customer Shopping
Cart and the customer Checkout process.
Within the “Ordering Rules” section
of theStorebuilder, StoresOnline merchants have the
ability to define shipping and handling
costs, domestic taxes, discounts
to customers, shipping destinations
to deny or accept, shipping companies
to utilize, currencies to use, payment
methods to accept, and shipping
and billing forms utilized by the
online customers. Shipping and Handling
costs and taxes are easily modified
in the Storebuilder
at the command of the StoresOnline merchant.
When adding a new ordering
rule, merchants can
define whether they want it to be
a tax, shipping cost, a fee, or
other parameters. The tax rule allows merchants to add all
sorts of taxes that apply to certain
countries and regions throughout
the world. The shipping rules work
much in the same way. If the merchant desires, they can add shipping
rules to customers who select the
various methods of shipping. If merchants choose only
to ship within their own country,
their own country's shipping methods
can easily be added. However, if StoresOnline merchants choose to
deliver internationally, they need
to add shipping methods that deliver
internationally.
Recognizing that domestic and international
shipping costs vary, the Storebuilder allows merchants to enter in various shipping
costs. For example, DHL international
might charge less than the UPS or FED EX, so the shipping rules allow
the StoresOnline merchant to automatically
add extra costs to the customers
who use the more expensive shipping
methods. (Free shipping, however,
is always a plus for customers who
want to buy online, so charging
shipping expenses is at the will
of the merchant). However, merchants can specify
whatever options they desire when
it comes to this rule, yet their
challenge is to make it enticing
for potential customers.
Once the tax, shipping, or fee rule
is in place, themerchant's
rules are tested against information
supplied by online customers. For
example, StoresOnline Canadian merchants have the ability to insert the VAT
or/and GST to the rules on their
StoresOnline site. If the rules apply to an online
customer, theStorebuilder
takes the subtotal of all products
of interest and applies the appropriate
tax in the total customer cost.
It is completely self-sustaining
and maintenance free, as long as merchants enter in
the correct rules for their region,
state, province, country, etc. This
is also applied to the shipping
costs and fees. Automatically, according
to what information the online customers
provides, the StoresOnline Storebuilder
charges the appropriate amount and
sums this to the total amount.
StoresOnline merchants are also
able to offer discounts to their
customers. Discounts range from
percentages off total costs, buy
2 get one free, and other common
discounts associated with retail
sales. Discounts are also entered
in the same way as taxes and shipping
charges, yet they have the ability
to discount the price. Discounts
can be arranged by codes sent out
to email memberships, one-day discounts
for any customer, or any method
the merchants choose.
Essentially the discount option
is extremely versatile, allowing StoresOnline merchants to decide
which, when, and how often shoppers
get discount.
For merchants who only
deliver to certain locations or
continents, shipping destination
parameters can be adjusted. For
example, if a StoresOnline European
merchant only wants to deliver to
New Zealand, they simply enter the
correct ordering rule and those
outside of the allowed shipping
area will receive a message, crafted
by the merchant themselves, stating
their policies, their concerns,
or whatever the StoresOnline merchant
chooses. Furthering the example,
perhaps the European merchant desires
to use certain shipping companies
for customers in Australia, New
Zealand, and USA. Respectively,
the merchant could
arrange the similar principle mentioned
earlier.
If a customer selects a
shipper, such as UPS, and the customers
resides in Australia and wants the
products sent to where they reside,
they will immediately get a message,
crafted by the StoresOnline merchant,
stating something to the effect
of how themerchant
only utilizes DHL to ship to Australia and they need to choose a different
shipper. The same could happen to
a customer residing in New Zealand who selects a shipping method dedicated
by the merchant to
ship only in Australia. This customer
as well, would immediately see a
message stating the conflict and
the need to choose a different shipper.
Essentially, ordering rules are
extremely dynamic, allowing StoresOnline merchants to establish their rules
and then permit the Storebuilder to utilize submitted
customer information to finish the
transaction.
StoresOnline merchants customize
acceptable payment methods in connection
with their online processor. Major
credit cards are a good way to accept
transactions over the Internet,
yet for customers who are still
leery of this type of commerce, merchants can allow for checks and
money orders as well. StoresOnline merchants can have customers print
out the order form with cost totals
and then send off the payment and
order form in the mail. Again, it
is all in the hands of the StoresOnline merchants to decide what type of
payment method is acceptable and
efficient.
Finally, all forms on the billing
and shipping pages can be altered
and changed in any manner the merchants choose. Any field can be marked
as required information from the
customer for the transaction to
continue. Names, addresses, countries,
phone numbers, etc can all be options
for what the merchants need in order
to facilitate their e-retailing activities and avoid mishaps. Of
course, the StoresOnline Storebuilder
has arranged necessary form elements
that are typically required in the
shipping and billing sections (e.g.
name, address, state, country, phone
number, e-mail, & shipping methods)
of the order form. Therefore, merchants
satisfied with the StoresOnline Storebuilder's established elements
will not have to do any alterations
at all.
If you haven't checked out the StoresOnline Newsletter Blog, you are missing out on helpful knowledge that all StoresOnline business owners should know. For example, in the February 2008 StoresOnline Newsletter posting, Vice President of Customer Relations, Rob Schow, talked about the importance of marketing offline to gain new customers online. Mr. Schow notes, "To make a profit and stay in StoresOnline business, StoresOnline business owners need a reliable way to get more customers in the door that are willing to spend money. One of the best ways to acquire more customers is through a direct response marketing system..." Click here to read more.
If your StoresOnline business is lacking in StoresOnline entrepreneurialism then you could be losing customers, losing sales, and losing ground to your competitors. That's not something any StoresOnline business wants to do without a fight. That's why I have put together six easy steps for your StoresOnline business to take that'll pump energy throughout your organisation - from the cleaner to the boardroom.
StoresOnline Entrpreneur Tip 1. Incentivize
As a StoresOnline business owner, you should look for ways to motivate your employees. Offering them bonuses, especially when they are closely tied to performance in their job, will likely benefit your staff and in turn your StoresOnline business. StoresOnline entrepreneurialism is something that's only ever truly harnessed when a person is exploring ways to improve their own wealth and achievements. StoresOnline Entrpreneur Tip 2. Track Performance
You can tell how successful your StoresOnline business has been by taking a look at your P&L. As a member of staff within your StoresOnline business, especially the lower down the ladder you go, the less a person's performance is tied to the profit of your StoresOnline business. Incentivising your staff to perform is one thing; however you should also ensure you track your staff and show them how they perform against their co-workers. This will unlock hidden energies within your staff, and make them compete with one another. This is evolution at work. The great workers will thrive in this workplace dynamic and the poorer workers will need some training to help them catch up. StoresOnline Entrpreneur Tip 3. Freedom of Thought
StoresOnline entrepreneurialism needs freedom to flourish. That's why you should give your staff room to explore their ideas, and contribute meaningful things to your StoresOnline business. Google give their staff 20% time, which means that their staff are allowed to spend 20% of their working hours exploring ways to improve Google's existing products and create new ones. This is an innovative way to encourage loyalty within your organization. StoresOnline Entrpreneur Tip 4. Personal Stake
Nothing encourages StoresOnline entrepreneurialism like equity. Just ask Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and all the other famous StoresOnline business leaders that have made their mark. Although their passion and knowledge got them so far, they probably performed better because they had a share in the game. Consider offering your staff stock options. If you are a smaller firm, this can be particularly meaningful. StoresOnline Entrpreneur Tip 5. Share Information
Don't just tell your staff only how they are doing when it comes to meeting their own targets. Let them also know how the broader StoresOnline business is doing too. Your staff likes to know if sales are up or down, and if the StoresOnline business is going places. If you let them know how things are working out, they might have great ideas to contribute. Not only that, but when people know what the StoresOnline business is aiming for, everyone might rally behind the same common goals.
StoresOnline Entrpreneur Tip 6. Strong Team
If StoresOnline entrepreneurialism exists within parts of your organization, and you actively encourage it, then it should spread throughout your StoresOnline business. In order to ensure this happens, and that the best staff influence everyone else, you need to ensure you have a strong team. Don't be afraid to invest in team building exercises to make sure you get the dynamics right for everybody.
The importance of StoresOnline Site content cannot be overstated. Of all the search engine optimization techniques this ranks head and shoulders above the rest. StoresOnline site visitors, search engines and StoresOnline site owners want exactly the same thing in this regard – lots of quality information. When your StoresOnline site has a great deal to offer in terms of informative pages it makes the StoresOnline site "sticky", meaning the reader is more likely to stay on your StoresOnline site. The longer a visitor stays on your StoresOnline site, the more likely they are to buy something or contact you.
Content also gives your StoresOnline site and therefore your StoresOnline business more credibility. You become known as a source of information, an opinion leader in your field. People are more likely to recommend your StoresOnline site to their friends. Search engines will consider your StoresOnline site more valuable, which is likely to translate into higher rankings. You have more potential pages to rank in the search engines, which alone could create more StoresOnline business.
As an interesting test, type a search term into Yahoo or Google. Take a look at the listings that appear in the portion in the middle of the page. Notice how many of these don't just go to the home page of a StoresOnline site. The Internet is a giant collection of catalogued pages – not just StoresOnline Sites. So you can see the more pages you have the better your chances of getting ranked highly for the search terms you want.
To enhance the overall effectiveness of your content pages these should be based on the right search terms. A search term is a word or series of words that a user types into a search engine when looking for a product or service such as you offer. It is worth taking a little time to find the best terms on which to base your content. Am important factor is to write your content around more specific search phrases. For instance you would not want to bother with optimizing for "real estate". Too many pages on the Internet contain this term and it's not even what your potential public would type in to find your StoresOnline site.
Writing optimized content for a term such as "denver homes for sale", "foreclosures in Denver", "sell your house in Denver". Once the proper search terms have been decided up it's time to write the page. The page should be 500 to 1000 words in length (more or less) and should emphasize the selected term.
Preparing your page for the search engines has a few techniques and rules, which also need to be applied. Quality, relevant, search term rich pages will do the following for your StoresOnline site:
1. The search engines "love" StoresOnline site with lots of quality content and will spider your StoresOnline site more frequently if content is being added on a regular basis..
2. Visitor will stay on your StoresOnline site longer, which translates into more sales and leads.
3. Visitors will recommend your StoresOnline site to friends.
4. Other StoresOnline sites will eventually start linking to yours.
5. Rich content, based on keyword research, improves individual page rankings thereby creating more entry pages for visitors onto your StoresOnline site.
6. If you have created the content yourself you can submit the articles and get even more links to your StoresOnline site from all over the Internet.
Search engines and StoresOnline Site visitors are all looking for true and valuable information. All we have to do is give it to them.
When thinking about creating a StoresOnline Site and planning the web design, attention should be paid to each minute detail of your web design to make sure it performs optimally. As well as keeping file sizes down, there are a several things that you should consider to ensure that it serves its purpose in the greatest way possible. Below are just a few ways that will ensure your StoresOnline Site performs well.
1. Clean and simple navigation. We all know that there is nothing more frustrating to a user than not knowing where they are on a StoresOnline site or how to get back to the page they were viewing. When first thinking of your web design; it is a good idea to map your navigation out from the beginning of the project. Make it straightforward and simple to the point where a young child could use and understand it.
Avoid using complicated drop downs or flash menus and always be aware of the 3 click rule. This means that wherever your visitor is on your StoresOnline site they should be able to navigate to any other page on the StoresOnline site within 3 clicks. (There are exceptions to this rule but it is always a good idea to keep this in mind) If you confuse your visitors with your navigation they will leave your StoresOnline site and probably won't come back!
2. Ensure that the user can identify where they are at all times. This ties in with the navigation aspect. When a visitor is viewing your StoresOnline StoresOnline Site and has navigated several pages you want to ensure that they know where they are within your StoresOnline site because, as previously mentioned, they may wish to revisit the page. Make it as easy for them as possible to figure out where they are. Any kind of confusion and people tend to get impatient leading to them leaving your StoresOnline site.
3. Avoid using Splash Pages Although splash pages can sometimes serve a purpose it is always best to avoid using them within your web design. Splash pages are normally the first page that you see and have an image or moving text saying "Enter Here" or something similar. They serve no real purpose except to create an extra click for your user and search engines don't tend to value them at all. Be up front with what you do or you want to say and always present it on the first page people will see to ensure maximum exposure.
4. Be cautious of using audio files. Audio can be annoying to some visitors if used in the wrong way. If a visitor stays browsing your StoresOnline StoresOnline Site for more than a few minutes make sure they are not forced to listen to a looping piece of audio! If you are going to insist that audio is used and it adds some value to your StoresOnline site make sure that it can be turned down or even muted at any point in the visit.
5. Try and avoid banner advertisements. Even the less experienced user has learnt to block out banner advertisements on a StoresOnline StoresOnline Site. If you are thinking of incorporating advertising within your web design try to be more subtle about it. Good content with appropriate affiliate links is, in most cases, far more affective than a full length banner. If you feel that it is necessary, keep banners to a minimum and incorporate a rotation system.

This merchant took the StoresOnline Survey and left the following comment: Prompt response...Thanks again. Even in a brief interaction, the StoresOnline Support Representative was able to provide the service that the merchant needed most at that time.
There are numerous ways to drive traffic to your StoresOnline Site, such as search engine optimization, pay-per-click advertising, or getting back links to your StoresOnline site. When done properly these can all be very useful methods for building a steady stream of traffic for any StoresOnline Site. Another method that people generally do not think about is using eBay or StoresOnline sites like it as a web traffic driver. This method can be almost as effective as a good PPC campaign – and a lot cheaper in the long run.
Starting a web traffic campaign of this type is not as simple to begin as many of the other methods of online advertising, it takes more creativity and effort upfront than beginning a PPC campaign for instance. For a sales company the benefits of using eBay to drive traffic to your StoresOnline Site is obvious – eBay has a large and active base of consumers looking for goods to purchase. Yes, it is true that while the consumer is on eBay they are typically looking for a cheap price, but here's the catch: you are not interested in the consumer while they are on eBay, all you want to do is make them aware of your web presence OFF of eBay.
Your eBay listing should in some way be related to the content of your StoresOnline Site – this is important for two reasons: The user who clicks through to your StoresOnline Site is already interested in that topic, if they find that your StoresOnline site presents them with good information or related products and services they will become a likely customer or repeat visitor. Additionally, they will be more likely to click on the ad links featured on your StoresOnline site (assuming you use a targeted PPC campaign like Adsense on your StoresOnline Site).
Remember, on the internet content is king. It does not matter what your content is, so long as it is quality and relevant to your targeted user base. eBay simply presents another avenue to reach this base. One problem you will have to deal with is that eBay does not like blatant advertising of seller's personal StoresOnline Sites. Generally eBay does not like auctions that take the user away from their StoresOnline site. Fortunately, there are a couple of things that you can do to reduce the chances of eBay shutting your auction down
First of all you must make sure that the landing page the user ends up on at your StoresOnline Site is highly relevant to the auction ad itself. The simplest way to accomplish this is to make the landing page an article, review or further information about the item being offered in the auction.
Secondly do not make the item being presented in the eBay auction available for purchase on the landing page of your StoresOnline site. Obviously eBay wants the item to be purchased on eBay, if you make it too easy for the user to purchase it outside of eBay your auction will likely get pulled. Likewise if eBay does not see any relevancy in the landing page linked to in the auction they will likely stop the auction. And of course why would you want to make a landing page that was not relevant to the auction? The landing page should in some way enrich the eBay user's experience; if it does not you will not only make eBay angry you will have blown your shot at converting a long term customer or StoresOnline Site surfer. So take the time to think through what you are posting! Add to the user experience, that is how you get customers for life.
For content StoresOnline sites it can be a little more difficult to use eBay as a traffic driver. Most content StoresOnline sites do not sell hard goods. So how can they use eBay to drive web traffic to their StoresOnline sites? There a couple methods. First off write an ebook or special report and just like if it was a physical good make sure the landing page the user ends up at on your StoresOnline site has an article, review or some other related content that eBay would view as increasing the odds of the consumers purchasing the good listed in the auction.
Using eBay and similar StoresOnline sites like it to generate web traffic can be tricky, and will certainly take a good amount of testing to pull off. But once you have built a successful auction page that gets a lot of views, you will have created yourself a giant advertisement amidst a user base that is 10s of millions of members strong, that will only cost you about 25 cents per week.
What is StoresOnline entrepreneurialism? Have you ever thought how StoresOnline entrepreneurs get where they are? Did starting up a StoresOnline business ever crossed your mind? If you have an eight-to-five job have you thought of working any hours you wish? StoresOnline entrepreneurialism is not only working the hours that you want to work, but usually involves working more much more. It's also about taking the risk and having the initiative to realize your dreams. It's not an easy way to make money at the start, so don't consider it if you are dreaming of getting out of bed at noon and enjoying cocktails on the yacht. That comes later – much later.
It does mean that you don't have to keep the boss happy. It could also mean enjoying the things that you love and having the time to enjoy them, but also means passing it all up until you are able to do that. But to top it all, it means earning a higher income in the longer term with a StoresOnline business of your own. It usually takes anywhere between three and five years for a StoresOnline business to start making serious money. If you are luck to breakeven in the first couple of years you are doing well. Having your own StoresOnline business will definitely give you a lot more freedom to do as you wish in due course, but there is a price to pay.
If you do decide to take the plunge into StoresOnline entrepreneurialism and find a gap in the market, you will realize a new world of possibilities. The things you will be able to do if and when you are successful are usually only dreams of a regular employee, but have you ever thought about making it a reality? Most people will tell you that a StoresOnline business of your own is the key, but how do you go about it? There is no more job security and it would then be up to you to maintain your family in a good standard of living. However, if you have the spirit of StoresOnline entrepreneurialism in you, then you will be able to provide your family with a much higher standard of living than they have enjoyed and the security of knowing that your fate is in your own hands.
Think about what you are doing now: you are working hard for the company, not really for your family. With the work that you do, who is earning the most? The answer to that question is obvious. Not you. How about setting up a StoresOnline business of your own? This is the day that you can open up your eyes to a different perspective of work, and make the decision to work for yourself.
The first step to becoming an StoresOnline entrepreneur is to make a choice. You decide whether you want to work for yourself or somebody else. You should decide whether you want a better quality of life, not only for you but for your family. In fact, StoresOnline entrepreneurs usually involve their families in the StoresOnline business and it is a great gift to pass on to your children someday.
The second step is learning what kind of StoresOnline business you're going into. What field will you enter? What kind of StoresOnline business fits you? What type of StoresOnline entrepreneur are you? Note down all your strengths, weaknesses, interests, desires, and the hobbies that you like. What is your passion? What interests you the most? Make sure that it is something that you love. It should be something that you enjoy doing. It should not feel like work! Most successful StoresOnline businesses will relate tales of founders who lived and breathed the StoresOnline business that they started. Most successful StoresOnline entrepreneurs would say that they enjoy their StoresOnline business life as much as they enjoy real life.
In becoming an StoresOnline entrepreneur, the third step involves researching your chosen StoresOnline business, and finding gaps in the market that have not yet been filled or can be handled much more competently. This is the most important part of the entire process: you cannot be an StoresOnline entrepreneur by being a ‘me too'. You have to lead the field, and do something new or a lot better. Without enough research, your new StoresOnline business will only lead to an expensive hobby.
